Viral / HD-TV spot for the launch of Audi TT in Australia. Concept and Art Direction by Matt Pyke, programming by Karsten Schmidt. Commissioned by The One Centre.

Realtime projection piece. Java + Processing w/ OpenGL.

Commissioned by the AV.06 festival for the Sage Gateshead venue in Newcastle. Using a fixed projector and two DL2 projectors mounted on a moving base, projections were made to fit the organic space of the concert hall concourse (designed by Norman Foster).

3D form systems were chosen in response to the striking architecture, to maximize the sensation of forms "pushing through" the walls.

The Animaris Rhinoceros Transport is a type of animal with a steel skeleton and a polyester skin. It looks as if there is a thick layer of sand coating the animal.
It weighes 2 tons and it stands 4.70 meters tall. Because of its height it catches enough wind to start moving.
They are wind powered.

The Animaris Rhinoceros Transport is a direct descendant of the Animari or Beach Animals.

Theo Jansen (1948) studied physics at the University of Delft (The Netherlands) He left University to become an artist.
He has been working on creating a new life-form. Beach Animals. These creatures consist of walking skeletons.
Over the years an evolution has occurred, which can be seen in the succeeding generations.
Eventually he wants to put these animals on the beach where they will lead their own lives.
